Final Draft 9
While there is no official release date set for Final Draft 9, it is not expected most likely until early 2013. No new feature details have been announced, but development has been mainly focusing on collaboration features. Writers will be able to save files in the cloud for easy access anywhere and to share files with a writing partner. This will allow for script changes and revisions to be tracked more easily and efficiently. This will be a service provided by Final Draft as a monthly subscription fee in addition to the purchase of the new version 9.
Due to the long development process, there is no need to wait to purchase Final Draft. Final Draft 8 is robust and feature rich so you can start on your script right away. As a current owner of Final Draft 8, you will be eligible to upgrade to Final Draft 9 when it is released. And, by then, you’ll already have your finished script, if not more!
Final Draft iPad Version
Final Draft Reader for the iPad is now released. This app is a companion product to the Final Draft software, meaning you areable to read a Final Draft script add ScriptNotes. Scripts opened on the Final Draft Reader will same maintain styles and pagination as on the desktop application. However, you will not be able to type in or start a script with the Final Draft Reader iPad app.
